Welcome to Crocker Middle School, home of the Vikings! And, let me assure you, there has never been a better time to be a Viking. Make no mistake, Crocker Middle School is on the cutting edge of 21st Century learning by offering one to one technological devices to every student sixth through eighth grade, as well as team members attending professional development courses around common core strategies, design thinking as we look to the future of education and what it means to teaching and learning. We will be first day ready with enthusiasm!

The Crocker Team is committed to inspiring your child to academic excellence within a community that promotes respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, empathy, and positive attitudes towards one another.

It is our belief that the responsibility for student learning is one that all of us share, together. Success occurs when there is a strong partnership between school and home and we are very fortunate that this is the cornerstone of the Hillsborough community.

While you and your child navigate through the “middle years”, the Crocker team wants you to know that you are not alone; we will stand by you every step of the way. And, as we focus on the academic, social and emotional growth of every student in our care, I would like to take this opportunity to share with you what you can expect from Crocker Middle School, every day, in every classroom, at every grade level.

  • You can expect Crocker Middle School to use of common core state standards every day, in every classroom, at every grade level.
  • You can expect Crocker Middle School instructional leaders to transition into the common core standards with a willingness to learn from one another. As we use and integrate technology into our lessons, we will embrace our student’s creativity; promote cooperative learning, collaboration and problem solving because we know that these are the skills and strategies necessary for our students to be competitive in an ever changing world. We will embrace this learning every day, in every classroom, at every grade level.
  • You can expect Crocker Middle School to attract highly qualified teachers who collaborate with one another, problem solve for the best interest of their students and apply best teaching practices every day, in every classroom, at every grade level.
  • You can expect Crocker Middle School to implement Professional Learning Communities, which promote the use of formative assessments to ensure that children are mastering content. And, when our students don’t, we stop, re-teach, and re-assess to ensure student proficiency, every day, in every classroom, at every grade level.
  • You can expect Crocker Middle School to create a loving and safe environment, through many programs, including but not limited to iKind, Rad Day, and WEB, every day, in every classroom, at every grade level.
  • You can expect Crocker Middle School’s principal, assistant principal and/or counselor to address any form of bullying reported to them by the Hillsborough community, with a no non-sense resolve, every day, in every classroom, at every grade level.
  • You can expect Crocker Middle School team members to communicate effectively to all members of our learning community every day, in every classroom, at every grade level.

We look forward to seeing all of our returning families and welcoming all of our new families to Crocker. We know that your child means the world to you, and we thank you for entrusting us to educate and care for them during the school year.

More than two decades of research findings are unequivocal: the most important aspect of a school in terms of student learning is teacher quality, and our teachers are among the best!

Students in K-2 have access to a reading specialist. 3rd-5th grade students participate in our Innovation Labs where they create and explore. K-5 students participate in music classes, and 4th-8th grade students have access to instrument instruction. Spanish instruction begins in 4th grade, and Mandarin is offered in our middle school. All of our schools have a dedicated counselor, teacher librarian, physical educator, and more!

Through the generosity of donors, the Hillsborough Schools Foundation pledged $3.5 million to our schools for this school year. Last year's Fund-A-Need raised funds for traffic and safety. Thank you!
